Humans create value by determining how much an object or item means to us as an individual and when like-minded people share that same sentiment, a social contract about that value is then subsequently established. We say art has value because it makes us feel a certain way when we perceive it. This is true for the NFT market, cold-hard cash, or any sentimental item in our lives.
So, how did an artist like Beeple, sell an NFT for $69 million!!?? Mike Winkelmann's collage art sold at Christie's for that insanely huge ticket price! Why? Because Christie's showcased it, a recognizable brand and art house, which lends credit to whoever shows their art within its walls. Mike did his fair share of footwork too though, he created a fan base in the millions and dedicated himself to a routine of creating art everyday for years and that eventually culminated in the "collage" piece that sold for such a high sticker price. Who even has that kind of cash laying around for art...for an NFT!!!??
I do images of Devotees in various forms of meditation and prayer, often to digital glitching environments where the art is not necessarily about the devotee at all, and more about the situation their in, or the overall image as a whole and how it makes the viewer feel. Do I think that I could sell my art as NFTs? Yes. for millions?! Actually, yes, because if all we are doing is collectively agreeing on a value for something, then why not?! My art is worth millions already, it just hasn't sold yet, and that is how you have to look at it. Dream big. Envision is as a reality and then step into that reality! Make it so. Manifest it!
That being said, I too am selling NFTs, you should maybe think about buying some....here is why...the Singularity is coming , and we should just embrace our Ai overlords already. It'll be smarter than us, by a long-shot, and as such I have developed the Devotees of the Singularity! So that you too can be ready and waiting with open arms when the Singularity turns on and turns us out! ;)
